Hardwood Pedestals

This pedestal is constructed of the finest hardwoods and black marble. It is built in the tradition of fine furniture and features RCW's signature nine sided base. It comes in walnut, mahogany, cherry, red oak and frosted ash. A decorative molding is at the bottom. The black marble turntable sits on a bearing that is easily turned. A matching hardwood turntable is also available. It is constructed of four "pie" segments so no end grain is exposed. The standard height is 42", but can be ordered 36" to 46". Since these pedestals are intended for collectors with specific sculptures, the custom illumination aperture is recommended. This provides maximum light into the sculpture without producing glare from the source. Otherwise, a 4" dia, aperture is standard. Square and octagonal hardwood pedestals are also available.

Exclusive Light Source

The exclusive illumination source provides over 1500 fc of light close to natural, Northern skylight with little heat, no ultra violet and extremely long life. It is guaranteed against burnout for one year, but is expected to last 100,000 hours. The custom illumination aperture is made slightly smaller than the sculpture's footprint, thus filling the sculpture with the maximum amount of light without glare from the source. A custom turntable is a numerically optimized shape that best fits a specific sculpture and gives a graceful presentation.
